Chevy Canada Recalls

New Pontiac Cars in 2009
This has been confirmed that Pontiac will be selling the G3 5-door in 2009. The vehicle is based on the Chevrolet Aveo5 (also known as the Daewoo Kalos in Korea). The sedan version of the G3 was sold in Mexico previously and also sold in Canada as a 5-door hatchback that has been called the G3 Wave.
The G3 will be mechanically identical to the Aveo, with a liter 1.6 4 cylinder with automatic transmission 4 speed / 5 speed manual. Features will include GM's OnStar system, AC, airbags, and more. The car also comes with standard fog lamps and a tailgate spoiler to improve the style of the car.
Even if it is a hatchback economy, G3 adds a different flavor to the line of Pontiac cars. Also in 2009, Pontiac will have 4 cars with EPA highway fuel economy over 30 mpg, which makes it a lot more competitive on the market cars today. These vehicles include the G3, Vibe, G6 Sedan and Coupe G5.
The price has not been determined yet.
The G6 nameplate at the new sedan and coupe came out in 2005 (with the convertible following), but the G6 is apparently sixth-generation version of the line Grand Am G6 is also available as a convertible hardtop. Trim levels starting with the base sedan, equipped with a 2.4-liter four and four or six-speed automatic. The G6 GT comes in three body styles, is the only convertible trim and a 3.5-liter V-6 with a four-speed Auto. The GT convertible can also be an option to a 3.9-liter V-6.
At the high end are the sedan and GXP coupe with a 252-hp, 3.6-liter V-6 with variable valve timing. The GXP recalls the body clad Pontiacs from days of yore, with a giant rear spoiler, wide grille and hood scoops inspired by the success of the Pontiac GXP.R races in Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series. The outlook does not translate well to the street.
The Pontiac G6 is based on the unibody platform as the Chevrolet Malibu, but the new Malibu benefits from three additional years of development and Within much better. By comparison, the G6 feels like a rental car with a plastic liner cheap cabin.
A transmission six-speed is a new option for the base car 2.4 liter, and it results in an impressive 33-mpg highway EPA rating. Remote start is now standard on GT and GXP.
We chose the first G6 convertible into a comparison test against the Ford Mustang and Chrysler Sebring, but it is interesting to Note that the trunk is almost unusable with the retractable hardtop stowed. We're not big fans of the aggressive style of the GXP, but someone, somewhere, should we love. The GT is devoid of thrills despite 221 horsepower. This leaves the base car, which was attacked in its lower price and higher sticker fuel economy. Our best recommendation, however, is to walk on the Chevrolet Malibu and watch.
Front, side front and curtain airbags are standard on the sedan and coupe, the convertible makes do with front and side airbags front. ABS and traction control are Standard on the base and GT. Stability control is standard on the GT convertible and GXP models, the Sedan and Coupe GT take control of stability as part of a package $ 1590 Street Edition.

2010 Toyota Vehicle Recalls $62.13 Two separate but related recalls of automobiles by Toyota Motor Company occurred at the end of 2009 and start of 2010. Toyota initiated the recalls, with the assistance of the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, after several vehicles experienced unintended acceleration. The first recall, on November 2, 2009, was to correct a possible incursion of an incorrect or outofplace front drivers side floor mat into the foot pedal well, which can cause pedal entrapment. The second recall, on January 21, 2010, was begun after some crashes were shown not to have been caused by floor mat incursion. This latter defect was identified as a possible mechanical sticking of the accelerator pedal causing unintended acceleration, referred to as Sticking Accelerator Pedal by Toyota. The original action was initiated by Toyota in their Defect Information Report, dated October 5, 2009, amended January 27, 2010. Certain related Lexus and Pontiac models were also affected. As of January 28, 2010, Toyota had announced recalls of approximately 5.2 million vehicles for the pedal entrapment/floor mat problem, and an additional 2.3 million vehicles for the accelerator pedal problem. Archives of Memory: A Soldier Recalls World War II $49.4 Tell me about the war these words launched a tenyear project in oral history by a husbandandwife team. Howard Hoffman fought in World War II from Cassino to the Elbe as a mortar crewman and a forward observer. His war experiences are of intrinsic interest to readers who seek a foot soldiers view of those historic events. But the principal purpose of this study was to explore the bounds of memory, to gauge its accuracy and its stability over time, and to determine the effects of various efforts to enhance it. Alice Hoffman, a historian, initiated the study because she recognized the critical role of memory in gathering oral history; Howard Hoffman, the subject, is an experimental psychologist. Alices taperecorded interviews with her husband over a period of ten years are the basic material of the study, which compares the events as recounted in the first phase of the interviews with later accounts of the same experiences and with the written records of his company as well as the memories of fellow soldiers and the evidence of photographs and other documents. This engrossing story of World War II breaks new ground for practitioners of oral history. The Hoffmans findings indicate that a subset of human memory exists that is so permanent and resistant to change that it can properly be labeled archival. In addition to describing some of the circumstances under which archival memories are formed, the Hoffmans describe the conditions that were found to influence their storage and retrieval.
