GM cars Won starring role in 'Transformers'
General Motors will unleash four vehicles to enter the spotlight and enjoy the fame. In a product placement coup, four GM vehicles, including the new Chevrolet Camaro to be launched in 2009, won the starring role in new action film "Transformers."
While other automakers have to wheel and deal regularly to their product lines in movies, GMA € ™ s vehicles are expressed as change form stars in the blockbuster action been proposed.
"This is a wonderful opportunity for General Motors to sell its product in front of millions of people," said Tim Calkins, clinical professor of marketing at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. "It keeps (GM) present, it creates awareness." Although the vehicles featured in a film would not be necessarily "pushing people into the showrooms as a rebate program will drive them in showrooms, it will reach people in a very different, "he said.
