what steering columns are interchangeable years on Chevrolet trucks and commuters?
Do we know a good website to find out? It seems always a good question and debate with the guys truck. For example, I have a column of 89 suburbs that I put in my 84 Burb, can I?? (for FYI, I say yes) I know that 74 and up Chevy "TRUCKS" were the same in the till "88", but "Suburban" does not change in the till "92"? So can they all exchange from type 80, great body? I hope that I was clear enough, thank you for the help! (Also, for column I mean the tree inside the cab VS. Stem from the actual column in the engine compartment) Thanks!
I experienced myself having more of these types of swaps and came to the conclusion that the longer the switch wiper the windshield is mounted on the dashboard, automatic or standard shift (duh), and perhaps the Cruse control, and years that you mentioned should be just a bolt in. You May change the "outside of the column shaft to the gearbox management. Some Newer models have a tree outside telescopic. There are exceptions to the very early years, but I made them work. Tilt column or standard work. Hope this helps. Concerns over just send me an email.
